FuNNy VaLenTiNe

Happy Be-Lated Valentine's!
We are terribly sorry we've been MIA this past week... that darn blog rut got the best of us yet again. But really, we are still here anxiously wanting to update you all on our immensley interesting lives...
So this is how our V-day went down;
I woke up very early and made the now traditioned, Valentine breakfast. It was yummy, and really fun to have Daddy there at breakfast for a change.
*Also please note how incredibly much Dustin and Minie look alike.. it's insane to me still
.
We then got bathed, dressed, ready, and started our first photo shoot for the day.
She's my Funny little Valentine... Always.

After the morning nap we headed over to my friend Dani's for what she calls "wiggle" time. I think it is a collaboration of story time and play group... I don't know though. I definately could be wrong. I'm very new to this Mom/playdate stuff. Really it was just nice to have something to do.

After play group we wandered home and spent the day stuck at the house. Dustin had informed me that "surprises" would be arriving through out the day and I musn't leave at all! I really can't complain though... I was showered with a lovely rose boquet, and an even prettier name necklace. He ALWAYS spoils... He's a good hub.
And although it is not photo documented, later in the evening we went out to a very lovely, fancy, schpancy, Valentine dinner at the Metropolitin. It really was extremely delicious, and very romantic. Dustin did so well!!
.
However at this point I must give a big thanks to Steve and Alice. Grandma and Grandpa were ever so nice to baby sit the moos at our house, eating McDonalds and watching TV while we were out painting the town...They really helped out there, and it was so fun to be able to get dressed up and have a nice dinner. Thank you, thank you!
Our Valentine's Day was fabulous. I truly hope yours was too ...

Tinerd....

Poor Minsie.
Yesterday I was mean and didn't let her catch her second nap... no, no instead I went to Target. I know, I'm such a good Mom... But really I must say, in my defense she was acting exceptionally happy the enitre time she was awake. Really, I think she may love the Targ as much as I do. I honestly didn't even realize she was so tired until I looked down and found this:

Poor girl.. How did I end up with such a good baby???
I love her.

Grandpa Mitt

The babies love him.
.
Friday night we were out to dinner for Cam's birthday, and as always the babies we are all about Grandpa. I love this picture because Alice was orginally in it holding Ben. However at the last second both babies caught sight of the camera and Ben dove for Steve grinning, while Minie pulled this beautiful cheeser.... Could it be any cuter???
No.

What a nice Grandpa.

Tagged... About my Hubby/Us

What is his name? Dustin Wayne Jackson
How long have we been together? About 3 Years... but I've known him more like 6.
How long did we date? Oh goodness...only 3 months before we were engaged, and then 3 more months till we were married. It was quick...
How old is he? 27

Who eats more? This really is a toss up.. we both love to eat, but I think if it were to really come down to it, I take the cake.. literally.
Who said I love you first? Him.. on like our second date. I was a little frightened to say the least, and asked him if he could please not do it again.... it was a little too forward, even for me. He then preceeded to tell me on our next date that he was sure that his next girlfriend was going to be his last, and that he was sure he would marry her... And you people wonder why I never wanted to claim him as my official boyfriend!

Who is taller? Him.. but he's not very tall.. maybe 5'9. I'm just short.
Who can sing better? Uh... does this even need to be addressed. Just think karaoke night on the cruise.. ME!
Who is smarter? I'd like to say me.. he's like to say him, but we all know the latter just isn't so. He is a lot smarter in math though.. however, that's not saying much considering my comprehension level of anything mathmatical.
Who does the laundry? This depends on what "doing" the laundry entails. I will actually do that act of putting it in the wash, as well as the folding, but I HATE putting it away. So, probably mostly Dust.. he also only has 5 pair of garments he likes to wear so he does it more often.
Who pays the bills? *SIGH*... Dustin. He never lets me forget.... But really he's pretty good about not making me feel too guilty about all the money I spend. Nice Hubby...
Who sleeps on the right side? Dustin... Both out parents slept this way, and I just feel like it was never a question about who's side was who's. Just felt natural!
Who mows the lawn? Umm... HOA. Love living in a town home community!
Who cooks dinner? Me, but Dustin can make a mean cobb salad & sante fe mac'n cheese.
Who drives? Dustin, hands down. I HATE driving, and really am not too great at it. I single handly wore out the clutch on our suburu in a matter of about 6 months. Yeah.. we tend to not let me behind the wheel if we can help it.
Who kissed who first? I kissed Dustin. He hadn't kissed a girl in almost 2 years, and was really nervous about the whole thing. I also was adamant that he steer clear of that because I just wanted to "be friends". He was so sweet to me, and clearly wanted to be more so I decided I would consider. He drove down to my parents one night and as soon as I opened the door to let him in, I layed a juicy one on him. I still don't think I have ever seen a happier face... he lubbed me.
Who is more stubborn? Another toss up.. we really just take turns. I'm pretty dang stubborn, but no one can pout like Dustin. Really... it's so hard to say.

Who asked who out first? Well.. this is a tough one. I had been going "out" with Dustin for years as his default date while tagging along with Kennan and Trev. I was even his birthday present one year. How nice, huh? K & T brought me for him to pay for. Anyway, our first official date that begun our real coutship, I think I asked him. He was helping Kennan and Trevan move, and pulled up in his brand new BMW. I had just broken up with a very serious boyfriend, and while being on the rebound thought " He always treats me nice... and that car is reeaaalllly nice." So after being with him all day, I just asked " Hey, when are you going to take me out in your new car?". He said to me "You want to go out? How about tonight?". The rest in history....
Who propsed? He did... There is no way in HE&% it would ever be the other way around. Who has more friends? Me. He used to, but now that we are married the roles have changed. He hates it.

Who is more sensitive? Um... once again I have to bring up Dustin's infameous pouting. Definately him.

Who has more siblings? Me.. he only has one brother. I have 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Another reason I believe he thinks it's okay to still pout...

Who wears the pants? We trade off.... a lot of it hinges on me gestating or not. So I suppose with my current track record that would make me be the rightful owner of the pants, but I share.... I really wish that weren't the case.

Now I tag, Michelle, Amy, Stacey, Kami, Darcie, Leslie & Laura

7 Months

Are you also wondering how this past month flew by as fast as it did?
My girl is getting so big, and although I know I posted about her at 6 months, the journey to month 7 has brought so much more I just had to document.

Besides growing even more adorable, Minie has definately found her voice, and now is possibly the most vocal member of our family (a hard feat to achieve)...
Dada, Mama, and Nana are among her favorite things to babble, or sometimes even scream.

She still sits like a pro (yes, it is something you can do proffesionally) and has started rocking back and forth attempting to get on her hands and knees. This little gesture strongly leads us to believe that crawling is right around the corner.

She has also started sleeping through the night...hallelujah! I don't know what finally did the trick, but it's about time decent sleeping is being had in the Jackson home.

The months really are screaming by, and I feel I am holding on to each second around my lovey girl with all I've got. I've said it before, but nothing is more true... she is my life.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to the man of my heart.
Baby, you make my life wonderful and truly are my best friend. I wish you nothing but the happiest of Birthdays! Thank you for being my man, the best Daddy, and mostly just for being you...
we love you!

Moving up...

From the second we brought Minie home for the hospital I've HATED our car seat carrier. I had spent many an hour searching out the perfect seat for our unborn sweetie, and thought I had picked the ultimate best/safest/comfortable. Although I still believe it to be all of those things, upon coming home with our mere 6lb12oz baby, I quickly realized I had chosen the heaviest. Seriously, I have never been the strongest gal on the block and that car seat was out to get me. I can't tell you how many times I risked both mine and Mins life trying to manuever that beast, and these past few weeks of almost constant snow have been the straw that broke the camel's back. So we moved up notch...
She has now had her big girl car seat for almost 2 weeks , and wow... my life seems so much easier already. It also helps that she's never looked so good in leopard print....

However, I must admitt tears were shed the first time she rode in it. My baby is getting soo big!

How, why, and when does that happen???

San Diego

We had to be off the cruise ship by 8:30 am, and our flight didn't leave San Diego until 6:40 later that night. So the Gregory's and us decided to rent a car and spend the day in the Whales you know what....
I love San Diego, and every time I'm there I ask myself why on earth I live anywhere but there? However, I quickly remember our income, and then realize that it will probably forever be a pipe dream... *SIGH*... I guess we're just not "fighters".
Anyway, I love this city and our day there was fabulous. We are definately going to have to return some time this year.. with Minie it tow of course!

Cruisin'

We are back.
It was a lovely little vacay, but let me just first tell you,
I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE MINIE AGAIN!
Holy cow, it was like I had lost an appendage. I missed her like cRAzY. And from now on she's coming on any trip we go on.
So, now that is out of the way, I can lead you through a virtual photo tour of our journey aboard the "Elation".
.
Now everyone kept telling us how nasty funk Ensenada was. I really was contemplating not even getting off the ship. Boy, am I glad I did. I mean really, where else can you ride these golf carts on steroids with Hot Wheel decals? That's right.. no where.
I actually thought Ensenada had some really beautiful landscape, and really enjoyed riding these puppies out to the Boufadora... A very cool landmark BTW
.

See.. we were lovin' it...

Our day in Cabo San Lucas was gorgeous, and they had more than enough activities for us to pass our time. I was dead set on snorkeling.. I normally love this pass time. However, please remind me to NOT participate while in Mexico. It was one of the creepiest things I've ever done. The fish were not pretty, other boats we speeding past, and no, we did NOT have life jackets.

And please.. I know I'm gorgeous. That mug is priceless.

We also went parasailing while in Cabo. We rode out on the boat with a few other people, and this lovely lady to a liking to Dustin. We were literally sitting right next to eachother, and this most beautiful woman snuggeled right between us, cozied up to Dust, and asked if he could protect her from the splashing water. Thank you.

The marina in Cabo right off the cruise ship.

We payed $2 for the photo. My favorite part is the sambrero... It makes me giggle every time I think of the man whipping it out and putting it on this disgusting lizard. "Picture is 2 Dolla!"

More parasailing

Aboard the Elation!
I didn't get too many pictures while on the actual ship itself, however please feel free to look at my sibilinga blogs because we were all here, and I'm sure at least on of them caught what I didn't.

Eating dinner... Hey guys

Can I just tell you how much I loved the towel animals? They just made me happy, and I looked forward to seeing a new one every night.

We also all enjoyed a little put-put on top of the boat..However the rocking back and forth really put a cramp in my game.

And of course Dad took it way too seriously... inevtiably insulting my Mom. He's such a sweet heart.

.

So I hope you all enjoyed my version of the cruise. Like I said, all of my family probably has this exact post posted on their blogs, so please feel free to compare.

Thank you Mom and Dad for the wonderful trip, it really was extremly fun!

Go Jazz

A few days before we left on the cruise, Dustin called home from work and noncholantly asked "Hey, would you mind if I had a guys night tonight?". I of course said yes, thinking he wanted to go see some lame movie (AVP R), or go play Halo with some friends. Only after I gave him the go ahead was when he informed me he had gotten Jazz tickets... Oh, and that he wanted to take Trevan. Yes, that's right, not his wonderful, devoted wife, that spent 21 + hours in labor with his daughter, who makes his life wonderful in every possible way (yours truly thank you very much). It was just plain rude.. and I was a little miffed to say the least.. Hello, Jazz games are extremely fun to attend, not to metion the stadium food that I L O V E! . I was going to let it fly and just be minimally (okay, largely) pertubed that he didn't invite me first, until he informed me that not only did he have tickets, but they were tickets in a suite! Yes, pretty much after that, he had no choice. I was going. Sometimes you need to just swallow your pide, and take what you want.
So.... he took me.
The happy couple...
he should have learned better by now.
Tisk, tisk.

And finally, our veiw from the suite... not the best but certainly not bad.
Trust me, the free food made up for it.
.
So all in all (despite the smallish fight that arose ) it was a lovely evening... So sorry I stole your place Trev... maybe next time??
Go Jazz...

6 Months.. How??

What? How is my baby already 6 months old??? Seriously, the last 3 months have FLOWN by. It's slightly insane. Minie is our lovey girl, and got an excellent report at the doctor today. So without further ado; her stats:
.
Weight: 15lbs1205- 50%
Height: 25.3 inches- 50%
Head Circ: 42 cm- 40%
.
So hurray! Her head in finally catching up and everything else is just perfectly round, average, and yummy. She is aboslutely delecious! However, I did voice my concerns about Minie being the non-roller she is, and good ole' Dr. Cramer told me to not worry. He actually said she was on the advanced side with her sitting, and not to be concerened in the least. Yeah, so watch out, my baby can sit better than yours.. it's huge.

So all in all Minie is very healthy, and so perfect in our eyes. She just keeps getting better every day, and I have no idea how I am going to leave her for almost a whole week while on the cruise...
We are still sooo in love with this scrumptiuos plum of a girl.. Miss Minie Moo!

Miscellaneous

I've been in a bit of a blogging rut for the past couple of weeks, and to be quite honest, a picture taking rut. So I apologize for my ever so boring blog as of late, but here I am now updating away. These are just a few miscellaneous pictures I have actually snapped in these past weeks...
EnJoY

This is my Mom's Christmas present to Minie, and let me just tell you...she ADORES it.
When it started playing music and beeping she literally squealed out in glee... lucky me caught it on camera :)

Just getting a little wheel time in before bed... never hurts

And these lovely rabbits are IKEA's finest. Jude and Minie (hardly without eachother) enjoyed wearing this slighty (very) frightening mask during our shopping spree at Sweden's finest... Let's not even get into the $$$ we spent just on a whim. *SIGH*...

Cute, cute...
